Thank you for choosing MetaGen. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle the privacy of users of the MetaGen Lite app.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
We want to reassure our users that MetaGen does not collect any personal information. We do not request, store, or process any information that can identify you personally. This includes but is not limited to:
No account information
No personal profiles
No location information
No contacts
No advertising identifiers
Your songs, people, credits, photos and settings are stored on your own device and nowhere else. We cannot see them. Section 3 sets out the few things that do leave your phone.
2. No Account Sign-In
MetaGen operates without any account sign-in feature. Users can enjoy the app without the need to create an account or provide any personal details. We believe in providing a private and secure experience without unnecessary data collection.
3. What Leaves Your Phone, and When
Three things, and only these.
If the app crashes. A crash report is sent to Sentry, a service that helps us find faults. It contains the fault itself, your device model and your operating system version. It is set not to include your name, your IP address or anything you have typed.
When you ask for a look-up. If you press the search button beside a name, an ISRC or a title, what you typed is sent to our own service, which asks MusicBrainz, Credits.fm, Spotify and Apple Music and shows you what they say. We do not keep the search. What comes back is a suggestion to check, not a fact: these databases hold many people with similar names.
When you verify an IPN with PPL. You sign in to PPL in your own browser, never in the app, and we never see your PPL username or password. PPL sends your IPN back through our service to your phone, where it is saved with your profile. We do not keep it.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone for marketing.
4. Data Security
We take the security of your information seriously. Your work is held on your own device, and the few things listed above travel over an encrypted connection. Please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet, and no method of electronic storage, is completely secure.
5. Children
MetaGen Lite is a tool for people making music. It is not aimed at children, and it collects no personal information from anyone.
6. Your Work Is Yours
Because the app holds your data on your own device, you control it directly: change it, export it, or delete it in the app. If you delete the app, your work goes with it, so use the app’s export to keep your own copy of anything that matters.
7. Updates to the Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. The date at the top says when it last changed. If the app ever starts storing your work anywhere other than your phone, we will say so here before it does.
